Janell Harvey has joined the Islands Counseling practice and will be working with children, adolescents and families. She has years of experience in this field and we are grateful to have her with us.

Janell Harvey has a License for Professional Counseling in Mississippi and M.Ed. from Mississippi State University. She has more than 20 years of experience working with adults and children suffering from emotional or mental disturbances. Her career includes working with children impacted by child, sexual, physical abuse and neglect; working eight years at the MS State Department of Mental Health developing and evaluating child mental health programs across the state. She worked in the school system after Hurricane Katrina helping grade school children during their time of recovery. Janell has provided mental health to students at a local community college and patients through a community health center. Janell is married and has 3 children. She would consider it an honor to work with women, children, adolescents, families and couples through emotionally difficult times of life.
